The prestigious IDEA13 Achievement Awards were presented during a special ceremony at IDEA 2013 Conference & Expo at Miami Beach, Florida. INDA,Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, andorganizer of the IDEA 2013, together with Nonwovens Industry Magazine presented the famed Entrepreneur Award to Suominen Nonwovens. Matt Carey, publisher of Nonwovens Industry Magazine, said in his statement that Suominen Nonwovens’ bold step to transform its organization and reposition to serve a growing wipes market displayed the kind of entrepreneurial spirit that warranted the award. “This award represents a great recognition for all employees in Suominen Nonwovens for the commitment and passion they have for their work. Entrepreneurship indeed stems from the long historic roots of Suominen, and being awarded particularly for entrepreneurial spirit proves that we have succeeded in further strengthening that spirit at Suominen, at the same time with the major integration efforts done due to the acquisition of Ahlstrom’s home and personal business in 2011,” says Jean Marie Becker, executive vice president of Suominen Nonwovens. “As one of the cornerstones of our corporate strategy, the Suominen Way, is essentially built on entrepreneurial characteristics such as empowerment, accountability and passion, the award tells me that we are heading in the right direction in building shared corporate culture and common ways of operating,”says Nina Kopola, president and CEO of Suominen Corporation. “I am very delighted for the award and want to thank all at Suominen Nonwovens for their enthusiasm and determination.”
